She really has the munchies!
Slang of the day: munchies
Meaning: snack food or a craving for snack food
Usage: Look at all of the munchies this party has!
Dialog:
Burt – I’m so hungry, I could eat a huge hamburger right now.
Dot – Sorry Burt, but we only have light munchies at our party.
Burt – That’s fine. I’ll fill up on munchies.
***10 minutes later
Dot – Where did all of the food go?
Burt – In my stomach.
Finally a slang I already know! I’ve learnt it by listening to a podcast and I never forgot about. Do you know why? Simply because I instantly loved the word “munchies”. It sounds nice to my ears. Some words, I really don’t like, I even avoid using them. I know, it’s wrong but that’s how I am…
Does your husband have munchies as well?
Thank you Yvonne
My husband and I both get the munchies at night!! We put the kids to bed, then we pig out on munchies and watch movies together. I tend to avoid some words in French. I really understand what you mean with that. 🙂
Great post! I have the munchies for some Emmental chips!
Thanks Brian!
